“An Angel from God”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Angels have played an important part in teaching the gospel to the children of men since the days of Adam (see Moses 5:58). Because Satan and his legions seek to counterfeit these visits, even appearing as angels of light, the scriptures frequently identify righteous angels by such titles as “an angel of the Lord,” “his holy angel,” “angel of his presence,” and “angel of God.” These angels are messengers of God and, as such, frequently come to instruct and prophesy relative to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
