“Rebellion… an Enemy to All Righteousness”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
When someone has committed himself to the kingdom of God and then falls prey to an evil spirit, it is no longer possible for him to remain neutral. He becomes an enemy to the Church and wars against its doctrines. He may leave the Church but he cannot leave it alone. Such is the spirit of the adversary, once a bright and shining star, who rebelled against God and his Only Begotten Son. Satan came out in open warfare against God and all those the Father had chosen to be his rulers (D&C 76:25-29); he brought accusations against “them before our God day and night” (Revelation 12:10).
