“Learn Wisdom”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
The Psalmist who told us that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” also told us that the knowledge of God is reserved for those who “do his commandments” (Psalms 111:10). Wisdom, which is the coinage of heaven, is acquired by him who labors in heaven’s cause. “The same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul” (D&C 4:5). In contrast, “the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.” (1 Corinthians 3:19.)
