“Search Them Diligently”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Although the principles of salvation are plainly taught, and though no principle of salvation will be cloaked in obscurity or ambiguity, the word of God is man’s greatest treasure and one must search diligently to obtain it. Joseph Smith observed that “the things of God are of deep import; and time, and experience, and careful and ponderous and solemn thoughts can only find them out” (Teachings, p. 137).
