“I Would That Ye Should Come Unto Christ”

Brant Gardner

Unlike his father and grandfather, Amaleki is a man of demonstrable faith, and he bears his final testimony of the Messiah as he prepares to close his record.

Text: Amaleki has “no seed,” which may mean that he has no children at all, although there is a slight possibility that he means he has no sons, as transmission of the plates is always through the male line. In any case, Amaleki’s conclusion terminates the transmission line that began when Nephi gave the small plates to his brother Jacob. The small plates are reunited with Nephi’s other plates, to be transmitted with them.
