Enos says that at this moment his soul hungered to be closer to his Heavenly Father. Notice that he didn't just pray in his mind, but he knelt down and cried out in mighty prayer and supplication that his soul might be cleansed of his sins. It is rather amazing, but he not only cried out to the Lord for a whole day in confessing his sins and seeking forgiveness, but his prayers extended into the night.
