“He Had Heard My Cry and Answered My Prayer”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

The gospel teacher is eager for teaching moments. His constant prayer is that the God of heaven, he who knows all things and is the “discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (D&C 33:1), will provide an atmosphere for spiritual learning, an occasion wherein the truths of salvation can be presented and felt. Jacob rejoiced in the spiritual regeneration of his people, not in the pathetic fate of Sherem.
