strtoupper('“L')et That Be a Sign”

Miracles or wonders or gifts of the Spirit always follow true believers; indeed, they are one of the signs of the true Church and an evidence that the power of God is operating among his people. Where the Church and kingdom of God is, there also are signs and miracles; where these things are not, there faith is not, and there the Church and kingdom of God is not to be found (see Moroni 7:37-39). Signs may “have the effect of strengthening the faith of those who are already spiritually inclined, but their chief purpose is not to convert people to the truth, but to reward and bless those already converted. ” (Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 713; italics in the original.)
