“Which Bar Striketh the Wicked with Awful Dread and Fear”

W. Cleon Skousen

With this final plea, Jacob says farewell to modern Israel until he meets us at the pleasing bar of God, the holy place from which God dispenses ultimate justice is indeed "pleasing" to the righteous, for that is where they are recompensed for their labors, their persecution and trials. To them it is a place of beauty and reconciliation. But it strikes the wicked with an awful sense of fear.
