“Pluck Not the Wild Branches from the Trees”

Brant Gardner

As with the earlier efforts, there is no wholesale destruction of the wild branches. As we are well aware, this is not a perfect world with the gospel perfectly lived. Clearly the wild branches have been allowed to continue here we understand that it is at the tolerance of the Lord, not at his necessity. The Lord could destroy the wicked but chooses not to.

There is some indication that some of the wild branches will be destroyed. We certainly cannot place a historical face on all of these branches but the destruction of the Nephites at the end of the Book of Mormon suggests itself as a model for this type of destruction.
