“Having All These Witnesses We Obtain a Hope”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
The spirit of prophecy and revelation, the gifts and wonders of the Spirit-the presence and operation of these things-evidence or witness that one is approved of God. That feeling of approval, that sign or divine acceptance, is the inimitable foundation for a hope in Christ, a hope to be raised unto life eternal (see Moroni 7:41). The Spirit of the Lord, and the doctrines which flow from it, plant and nurture hope in the heart of the obedient.
