“The Awful Consequences of Them”

W. Cleon Skousen

This verse is worth memorizing. Jacob pled with the Nephites to arouse the faculties of their souls. He said they should shake themselves and wake up from the slumber of death into which they were sinking. He earnestly urged them to loose themselves from the pains of hell, for it they did not they would become angels to the devil and suffer the devil's fate, which is the second death. It is likened unto a person being thrown into a lake of fire and brimstone. Actually this is the fate of the sons of perdition, but all of the wicked taste a portion of this torment until they have paid the uttermost farthing.
