“One Day They Shall Become a Blessed People”

W. Cleon Skousen

Jacob chastised the Nephite men who were guilty of secret marriages, saying that they hated the Lamanites because of their filthiness, but the Lamanites were more righteous than many of the Nephites with reference to marital integrity, and they had only one wife and concubines they had none. That is why Jacob predicted that because of the respect which the Lamanites had for their families, the Lord would never allow them to be destroyed from the face of the western hemisphere. Jacob also predicted that one day they would be a blessed people.
