Jacob decides now to recapitulate. He summarizes all that he has said about their pride, selfishness and pseudo-superiority and then asks: "What say ye?" Without waiting for an answer Jacob demanded that they ask themselves if these things were not abominable in the sight of God. He reminded them that all mankind are precious in the sight of the Lord. All flesh is of the earth and will soon die. Therefore it is important that we use our time to keep God's commandments and glorify the Lord by living righteously and humbly before Him.
