“After Ye Have Obtained a Hope in Christ”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
The faithful in all ages hope “through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal” (Moroni 7:41). More specifically, the Saints possess hope in Christ in the sense that they, through being willing to sacrifice all things for the gospel’s sake, possess a knowledge that their course in life is pleasing to God (Lectures on Faith 6:10). The Lord thereby identifies those who are willing to give up all things-their own lives included-for the furtherance of the kingdom, as being capable of handling wisely and judiciously a share of this world’s goods.
