One of the most powerful witnesses that a servant of God can give is when the servant reveals the thoughts of the people. Look at the powerful influence that Ammon had on king Lamoni when he revealed his thoughts in their second meeting, And it came to pass that Ammon, being filled with the Spirit of God, therefore he perceived the thoughts of the king. And he said unto him…Behold, I am a man, and am thy servant; therefore, whatsoever thou desirest which is right, that will I do. Now when the king had heard these words, he marveled again, for he beheld that Ammon could discern his thoughts (Alma 18:17-18).
The Lord can tell our thoughts and will judge us by them, our thoughts will also condemn us; and in this awful state we shall not dare to look up to our God; and we would fain be glad if we could command the rocks and the mountains to fall upon us to hide us from his presence (Alma 12:14).
