In his farewell address, Nephi warns us as future readers of his record that we have the responsibility to decide whether or not we believe the things he has written. He also informs us that if we truly believe in Christ we will believe in his words, “for they are the words of Christ.” (2 Nephi 33:10.) In conclusion, he warns: “And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye—for Christ will show unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day.” (2 Nephi 33:11.)
