“I Have Charity for the Jew”

The family of Lehi considered themselves Jews, not meaning that they were of the tribe of Judah (as previously mentioned, see 2 Nephi 30:4), but rather because they had been citizens of the kingdom of Judah. Similarly, Paul, who was of the tribe of Benjamin (Romans 11:1), called himself a Jew because of his Hebrew lineage and upbringing (Acts 22:3).
