Nephi says he has earnestly tried to speak with plainness. That is because he has a strong sense of charity for all mankind -- for his own people, whom he will meet at the judgment seat of Christ, for the Jews, and for the Gentiles. But there is no hope for any of these unless they humble themselves, repent and follow the Savior into the waters of baptism.
