“It Maketh Known Unto Them of Their Fathers”

Brant Gardner

In spite of his tears for his people, he continues to pray for them, and consecrates his writing to the eventual redemption of his people. In this verse, Nephi shifts context from current congregation to future descendants. He links them in purpose and lineage, but this redemption through Nephi’s words he understands to come only at the end of time (after the translation of the Book of Mormon - an occasion that is part of Nephi’s understanding of the final events).
