Nephi's final chapter returns to words of warning and concern. He reiterates again the themes of our hard hearts, which preclude the Holy Spirit from doing much to enlighten us. (2 Nephi 33: 2.) As a result, we fail to see what is written in the scriptures. (Id.) He reminds us how deeply he cares for his descendants, (id., v. 3, 7), for the Jews (id., v. 8) and for us, the Gentiles of the latter-days (id., v. 9). As to all of these people, however, Nephi warns us: "none of these can I hope except they shall be reconciled unto Christ, and enter into the narrow gate, and walk in the strait path which leads to life, and continue in the path until the end of the day of probation."
