Nephi has been pleading with those who heard the gospel in the latter days to repent, enter into the waters of baptism and receive the Holy Ghost. But now he says that even that does not guarantee anybody complete salvation. He says he actually heard a voice from the Father saying that unless a person who has embraced the gospel actually endures to the end in faithful righteousness, he or she cannot be saved.
