“That Prophet Which the Lord Showed Unto Me”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

John the Baptist. See 1 Ne. 10:7-10.

The Lamb of God. The Lamb that (1), as a sacrifice, bears our iniquity (Is. 53:6, 7), or, (2) furnishes the material for protecting and ornamental covering. (v. 7), or, as in the Revelation by John, (5:6; 6:1; 14:1; 22:1), where the Lamb is the head of the entire creation, visible and invisible, who leads all that exists to victory and glory.

The sins of the world. Attention might be called to the plural form of the first noun referring, evidently, to individual transgressors, which the Lamb taketh away on condition of repentance and obedience. The singular form, the "sin of the World," which is the term used by John the Baptist (Rev. 13:8)
