These verses are quoted from what we know as Isaiah 11:5-9; they are also found in 2 Nephi 21:5-9. In them Isaiah describes the millennial rule when righteousness and peace shall prevail, and when the knowledge of the gospel shall cover the earth “as the waters cover the sea.” “And in that day,” the Prophet Joseph Smith writes, “the enmity of man, and the enmity of beasts, yea, the enmity of all flesh, shall cease from before my face. And in that day whatsoever any man shall ask, it shall be given unto him.” (D&C 101:26-27.)
