“The Covenant People”

George Reynolds, Janne M. Sjodahl

Jews and Gentiles are on a level of equality before God, for Gentiles who repent, thereby join the covenant people and share its privileges and prerogatives, as well as its duties and responsibilities. On the other hand, Jews, who will not repent, are cast off. St. Paul teaches the same doctrine: “or the promise that he”—Abraham—“should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith”—the gospel. (Rom. 8:14)
