the nations of the earth] The scriptures seem to indicate that at one time or another the gospel has been taught among all the nations of the earth. In our day we have been charged, as were the meridian disciples (see Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15), to take the gospel to those of every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.
