“The Labors and the Pains of the Jews”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet

That spirit that praises dead prophets while rejecting living ones and that praises the Bible while rejecting the Book of Mormon is also found giving the most profound homage to the words of the Jews while persecuting those who are Jewish. We are greatly indebted to the faithful Jews who penned these words and the countless others who courageously preserved them for us.

The covenant that the Lord made with Abraham and his posterity is in part that those who bless them will also be blessed, while those who curse them will also be cursed (Abraham 2:11). The Lord is reminding the Gentiles that it cost the best blood of past generations to bring forth this book of books.
