“Promises… Unto… Nephi”
The Lord promised Nephi and his father that a remnant of their seed would be preserved even to the last days. Their posterity, it was prophesied, would hearken to the words of the Book of Mormon (see 2 Nephi 3:23) and be blessed with the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Thus they will be preserved in the great and dreadful day of Christ’s return- that day in which those who reject the testimony of the Book of Mormon will be cut off from among those “who are of the covenant” (3 Nephi 21:11).
