“Line Upon Line”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
The Lord’s system for educating the spirits of men is one of teaching and testing. “For he will give unto the faithful line upon line, precept upon precept,” and try and prove them therewith (D&C 98:12; cf. 3 Nephi 26:6-11). Such is the Lord’s program of prerequisites. The treasures of heaven are rationed to those who have proven faithful stewards over the truths they have received.

“I Will Give Unto the Children of Men Line Upon Line”

In his wisdom, love, and mercy the Lord grants unto men “all that he seeth fit that they should have” (Alma 29:8).

To blind a man with heaven’s rays is to leave him in darkness.

“That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day” (D&C 50:24).
