When He Seeth His Children; Shall Sanctify My Name; Sanctify the Holy One of Jacob Fear the God of Israel; Come to Understanding; Learn Doctrine

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

The grand promises of the Lord, as conveyed through the lips of Isaiah, kindle hope, restore confidence, lift the burdens of sin, and fill the soul with joy. The Lord’s work is to “bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39). The work of the prophets is to teach the word of God and administer keys in the kingdom. Man’s work is “to keep my commandments, yea, with all your might, mind and strength” (D&C 11:20). Nephi blends his witness to these truths with that of Isaiah. They both reflect the vision of the destiny and potential of the sons and daughters of God.
