“Lebanon Shall Be Turned into a Fruitful Field”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

These verses describe the proud, modern atheists and antagonists of the work of God, who, like pottery vessels boasting themselves against the potter, are the created boasting themselves against their Creator. Just so, the proud and worldly “forest of Lebanon” (1 Kings 10:17, 21; 2 Chronicles 9:16, 20) will, in the final day, be replaced by the more humble and spiritually-minded “fruitful field.”
