2 Nephi 27:9 But the book shall be delivered unto a man [Joseph Smith] ([Illustration]): Moroni Delivering the Golden Plates. Joseph Smith, the man Isaiah speaks of in chapter 27, verse 9, wrote: "On the twenty-second day of September, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven, having gone as usual at the end of another year to the place where they [the plates] were deposited, the same heavenly messenger [Moroni] delivered them up to me" (Joseph Smith--History 1:59).
