“All the Nations That Fight Against Zion”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
The great and abominable church is any organization-social, economic, political, philosophical, fraternal, or religious—which fights against the church of he Lamb of God or opposes its practices or beliefs (see 2 Nephi 10:16).

“All the Nations That Fight Against Zion”

It is not without irony that those who oppose the truth and who fight against the Lamb of God and his church have precious little to offer in return to a hungry world. They who ravage the fields, spoil the fruits, and trample the tent of Zion are then left without provisions; they must fend for themselves and face the bitter winds of the day and the darkness and cold of the night.

Those who would raze the temples of’ the true believers are left without defense and without refuge against the “storm, and from wrath when it shall be poured out without mixture upon the whole earth” (D&C 115:6). They have poisoned the water in the well from which they too must drink.
