Here Nephi is continuing the message of Isaiah which was verified in Nephi's vision, that his righteous descendants will record the principles of gospel as they will practice them in their day, and this record will be buried in the ground until the latter days. But while the righteous Nephites are recording their scriptures, they will be earnestly praying that eventually this record will come forth. Nephi says that when it is revealed it will emerge among the people suddenly and right while their descendants are being persecuted by the modern Gentiles.
