But Nephi rejoices in the fact that the righteous who waited for the coming of Christ in America were rewarded when he came among them in 34 AD and allowed them to feel the scars of the wounds both in his hands and his feet and also in his side so that they would know he was indeed the Son of God who had made the atoning sacrifice.
