“O the Pain, and the Anguish of My Soul”
It is instructive to compare Nephi’s mournings in 600 B.C. in behalf of his distant posterity with those of Mormon, who witnessed with anguish the destruction of the Nephite nation in A.D. 385 (see Mormon 6:17-22), and the earlier lamentation of Enoch over the wickedness in the days of Noah (Moses 7:42-44).
