Of course it was one thing to show Isaiah the destruction of Babylon but for Isaiah that was a far future kingdom. The great threat to both Israel and Judah in Isaiah's day was Assyria. But the Lord assured Isaiah that this cruel and wicked nation of Assyria would fall. In fact it would be Babylon that would conquer her. Nevertheless, all of these visions concerning both Assyria and Babylon were given in the year that Ahaz the wicked king of Judah died of leprosy. That is believed to have been about 728 B.C.
