“They Shall Not Hurt nor Destroy in All My Holy Mountain”

Brant Gardner

All of the imagery leads to this capstone declaration. The triumphal arrival of the true king, whose law will cover the entire earth, will bring peace. The presence of this king creates a temple of the world, hence “they shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain.” That is the location of the Messiah, and it is now the center of, and representative of, the entire earth. The image “as the waters cover the sea,” suggests that this peace will be complete.
