“They Shall Not Hurt nor Destroy in All My Holy Mountain”

W. Cleon Skousen

In verse 6 we learn that henceforth the earth will be under the mantle of the new Millennium. It will be an amazing epoch when the wolf will dwell with the lamb and the leopard will lie down with the kid. One will see the young calf and the young lion eating together. The same phenomenon will be characteristic of all life during this blessed age. The cow and the bear will feed alongside one another in perfect peace. Their young ones will lie down together. Even more fantastic will be the transition of all meat-eating carnivorous creatures into herbivorous or plant-eating creatures. Thus the lions will be seen eating grass or straw like an ox.

Not only animal life will be secure in this Millennial environment, but so will the people. The suckling infant will play around the hole of the poisonous asp or snake and the weaned child shall, without danger, put his hand on the den of a poisonous insect or serpent.

Nowhere in all the earth will there be animals or men who will try to hurt or destroy. It will be a day where are neither agnostics nor atheists among men. The whole earth will be filled with a knowledge of Jesus Christ, the Lord and Master.
