“Calno”

Calno (Kalno), Isaiah 10:9 (2 Nephi 20:9). A town Kullania mentioned in Assyrian tribute lists. Associated with Arpad. Modern Kullan Koy 16 kilometers southeast of Arpad. “Carchemish”

Carchemish (2 Nephi 20:9) was a city (modern Jerablus) which guarded the main ford across the river Euphrates about 100 kilometers northeast of Aleppo. As a Syrian city-state it had treaties with Ugarit and other states during the 2nd millennium B.C. After a defeat by Sargon II in 717 B.C., Carchemish was incorporated as an Assyrian province.
