Now we can bring this story to a climax in a hurry. When the king of Jerusalem went right ahead mobilizing his troops, it brought down an avalanche of war just as Isaiah had predicted. Before it was through, over 200,000 Jews had been captured and many others killed. But this was not the end. Isaiah indicates that before the Jewish king is through he will be confronted by the hosts or flies of Egypt and the hosts or bees of Assyria. There will be war for an entire generation.
