“I Am a Man of Unclean Lips”

D. Kelly Ogden, Andrew C. Skinner

Those who see God often fear and feel unworthy. Isaiah’s lips were unclean, but not his heart; he had a willing heart. One of our students wrote: “If I were to have a great vision at this very moment, I think I would become so conscious of all my weaknesses and faults that I wouldn’t be able to handle the situation. The Lord has worked this problem out in a wonderful way. We can receive and learn as we are ready, willing, and worthy.” Peter felt unworthy when the Lord cleansed his feet; to a degree we all feel unworthy of the Lord’s cleansing and atoning blood, but we must accept it and apply it anyway.
