“Hoofs Shall Be Counted Like Flint”

K. Douglas Bassett

(Isa. 5:28)

Hoofs of the Arab horses are never shod, this practice being made useless by the hot climate. In ancient days the same thing was true. In Scripture the quality of a horse was judged partially by the hardness of its hoofs. Isaiah said: Their horses’ hoofs shall be counted like flint” (Isa. 5:28). Micah wrote: “I will make thy hoofs brass” (Micah 4:13).
