But when the cleansing is over, Isaiah wants to tell us about the great gathering of the last days when the children of Israel are brought together. It will be a day when God will raise up and ensign and gather all the tribes of Israel to their own original lands of inheritance. This raising up of an ensign is described in numerous scriptures. Isaiah himself says a little later: “And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.”
1 This has reference to the gathering in America where the Gentiles will congregate and raise up a land of liberty. But he goes on to say that the Lord “shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.”
2 So this will be a great worldwide gathering with the Gentiles coming to America and the Jews to Judah. Notice that they will come with great speed. It almost sounds like jet travel without even removing their clothes en route. They will also have modern devices to defend them so they cannot be hindered while the gathering is taking place.
