Yahweh will humble those of lofty position and power. Their worldly glory cannot survive Yahweh’s wrath. They will be brought down because they have not lived Yahweh’s law. This is not a blanket condemnation of wealth or power but rather of Israel for following worldly models even when it knows the true way.
