It has been said that a person’s choice to sin is a vain attempt to use worldliness to satisfy spiritual hunger. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland put it this way: “In our contemporary success and sophistication we, too, may walk away from the vitally crucial bread of eternal life; we may actually choose to be spiritually malnourished, willfully indulging in a kind of spiritual anorexia” (Trusting Jesus, 11).
What might cause a personal spiritual famine? Think of the times in your life when you have spiritually feasted. What can you do to feast more often and, thus, sin less?
