The only difference in the Book of Mormon text is the bolded “have been,” instead of the italicized are in the King James text. Therefore, only the Book of Mormon text is quoted.

The countenances of people reflects what they are. The people of Judah could not hide their immorality, which were even as the sins of Sodom, homosexuality. People also reflect their positive spiritual conditions. Alma described the born-again person as one who has “received [Christ’s] image in your countenances” (Alma 5:14).
