The verses found in 2 Nephi 12:5–22 reprove the people of the Lord for their trust in idols, “the work of their own hands” (v. 8).
As a result of this idol worship, God will humble the “lofty looks of man” (v. 11) and the “haughtiness of men … [for] the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day” (v. 17).
