“He Shall Judge Among the Nations and Shall Rebuke Many People”

Monte S. Nyman

The verses in the Book of Mormon and the KJV are identical, except for punctuation; therefore only the Book of Mormon text is quoted.

The Lord judging among the nations is accomplished through the Book of Mormon. The angel “having the everlasting gospel [The Book of Mormon] to preach unto every nation, kindred, tongue, and people” also announced that “the hour of [God’s] judgment is come” (Revelation 14:6–7). Nephi said: “the nations that possessed [the Book of Mormon] shall be judged by [the Book of Mormon]” (2 Nephi 25:22). These judgments of God will usher in the millennial reign. Note that Isaiah speaks of the time from the building of the house of the Lord in Zion (1836) to the millennium (already nearly 170 years) in just 3 verses (Isaiah 2:2–4). Isaiah seems to speak of movements rather than events.
