Jacob urges the people to remembers two things. First of all, they are free agents and they can choose everlasting life or everlasting death. Secondly if they are to have everlasting life through the grace of Christ's Atonement, they must reconcile themselves to the requirements of the gospel, obey God, and keep his commandments.
